A pristine stretch of five-mile beach hugs the Gulf of St. Lawrence
to the western side of Inverness. The broad expanse of beach welcomes
visitors to moonlite walks, bonfires, building sand creations, boat
rides, and beach volleyball. With a section of supervised beach, maintained
by Red Cross guards, the main beach area has a canteen, showers, rest
room facilities and a change room. The newest addition to the beach
facility is the expansive boardwalk that skirts the ocean and makes
your walking easier with small bridges. This is a welcomed addition
which is enjoyed by strollers, walkers and naturalists who revel in
a seaside stroll any time of the day. While in the village, enjoy the
sandy welcome of a restive cove to relax and soak in the Cape Breton
sun.
